In the Ribbon, from the View tab, choose Plan Views and click Floor Plan from the drop-down menu.
In the New Floor Plan dialog box, uncheck the Do not duplicate existing views checkbox. The levels that you copied in section D (Copy/Monitor Levels) should be listed. Select all levels besides Level 1 and Level 2, as these are already in the template file. Then click Edit Type… button. In the Type Properties dialog box, select the view template that is appropriate for the floor plan you are creating. Click OK, then OK.
Ensure that each new floor plan has a proper view template applied.
To choose a view template, navigate in the Properties browser and click on the button to the right of the View Template field, under the Identity Data heading.
In the Apply View Template dialog box, select a view template in the Names list.
Make sure the View Range checkbox is checked. Verify that the View Range dialog box has the proper Offset values of 0’-0”, 4’-0”, 0’-0”, and 0’-0” for Top, Cut plane, Bottom and View Depth, respectively.
Verify that the chosen view template categorizes the floor plan within the proper Discipline and Sub-Discipline. These selections will determine how the floor plan is organized within the Project Browser. Floor Plans, Ceiling Plans, 3D View, Elevations, and Sections will be categorized separately.
Once all the Floor Plans, Roof Plans, Ceiling Plans, and Site Plans have been created, renaming must be completed. Right-click on one of the newly created plans and select left-click Rename….
In the Rename View dialog box, type in the new name for the plan. For consistency, please use the following format <DISCIPLINE> <TYPE> PLAN – <SUB-DISCIPLINE> – LEVEL <XX>. Click OK when finished.
